John Green speaks to my soul.
I shouldn’t be allowed to watch his videos on youtube or read his books, because he always makes me feel and think far more than I had anticipated. Mr. Green, you will officially be helping me through reverse culture shock. I hope you, Looking for Alaska, An Abundance of Katherines, and Will Grayson, Will Grayson are up for it.
That is the fear: I have lost something important, and I cannot find it, and I need it. It is fear like if someone lost his glasses and went to the glasses store and they told him that the world had run out of glasses and he would just have to do without.”
— John Green, Looking For Alaska
My mom just referred to the book she’s reading as “A Shitload of Katherines”.
My apologies, Nerdfighteria. There is honestly nothing I can do about this.
That’s what I wanted to call it, but Penguin was all like, “You can’t put the word shit in the title of a Young Adult novel.” And I was like, “Well, of course not. But what about the word shitload?”
Reading A Shitload of Katherines right now and I legitimately laughed out loud on page 95 when it was necessary for the footnote to be “and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over.” in order to take all 19 Katherines into account.
The sky is blue because in space there are these gigantic blue birds like pterodactyls and they poop blue and cover the atmosphere with blue…Except when they’re sick and they poop grey and that’s why clouds are grey.”

“some of my friends liked it, i mean, they’re not real friends, i met them on the internet”
“Using the English nerd when you’re playing Nerdfighters is kind of like using toad when you’re playing Super Mario Kart.”
Even John Green is being mean to English majors. Can’t catch a break around here…
